What is Natural Flooring? (And why you should have it in your home!)

If you’ve been thinking about getting a new floor in your home, as carpet and flooring specialists here at Rowe, we would highly recommend choosing natural flooring! Why, you may ask? Well, apart from natural flooring giving off that high-end quality finish that gives any room the ‘wow factor’, it is also highly practical and an eco-friendly option, selected from often recyclable and sustainable materials! Although it may be a little higher in cost, natural flooring is definitely an investment worth making, as its durability will last year after year!

So, with many natural flooring types available, it’s important to know which one is right for you and your home! Here at Rowe, we have years of experience under our belts when it comes to flooring, so we thought we’d give you a little insider info on some of our favourite natural floorings on the market:

Stone

Real stone flooring gives a classic and beautiful feel to any room of your home. Often used in conservatories due to its ‘cold’ nature, stone flooring looks lovely with a rug and some rattan furniture. With many different colours, patterns and levels of durability to consider, there are many different stone types to browse before making a decision, such as granite, marble and slate!

Wood

Although there are many synthetic wood floors available, which are lower in price and almost identical, choosing real wood flooring has its benefits! Any real wood flooring looks beautiful and really makes your room look high-end! It is practical for those of you with a busy family life as it’s super easy to clean and lasts a lifetime (if cared for properly)!

Sisal

Both soft and hard wearing, Sisal flooring gives so many options as it is easily dyed, making it available in any colour! This natural fibre comes from a Succulent plant called Agave Sisalana, a native fibre of Mexico! A Sisal carpet is hard wearing therefore making it ideal for high traffic areas, such as landings and stairs! However, it soon softens up with regular footfall!
